Brother DR 520 Drum reset procedure

To reset:  Make sure the machine is turned on and the drum LED is blinking. Open the front cover. Press and hold the "Go" button for four seconds until all the LEDs light up. Once all the LEDs are lit, release the "Go" button. Close the front cover. The counter is reset.

Drum Life Low warning:   Drum light blinking, Green Status Light on: Drum life over soon—around 6% life remaining (1500p)—printer does not stop at any point.  Status page, if printed, will show 0% life left.  End user can continue to use the Drum unit as long as they’re happy with the print quality.

If the LCD shows Drum Near End, the drum unit is near the end of its life and it is time to buy a new one.  Even if the LCD shows Drum Near End, you may be able to continue printing without having to replace the drum unit for a while. However, if there is a noticeable deterioration in the output print quality (even before Drum Near End appears), then the drum unit should be replaced.

 

Put the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back in the machine.

A.  Do not close the front cover. 

B. Press Clear/Back until you see: “Replace Drum?”

a 1.Yes

b 2.No

Select “Yes” & OK

To confirm you are installing a new drum, press 1.

C. When the LCD shows Accepted, close the front cover.
